SUPERMOM SEASON 3-CELEBRITY EDITION PRIZE PRESENTATION FOR THE WINNER-COBHAMS’ MOTHER

The prize presentation for the winner of the supermom 2012 celebrity edition; Mrs Gladys Asuquo; Cobhams mother was  done on the 18th of April 2013, at the SOS children Village, Isolo.
Awal, the project manager for Digital Interactive Media appreciated Mrs Gladys Asuquo for being an exceptional mother. “Despite all odds she gave opportunity for her child to become who he is today. Cobhams no doubt is a voice to be reckoned with in the music industry, especially at a producer level” he said.
He went further to say “ Supermom is a charity movement that rewards those mothers that gave tremendous efforts on their children; during the hard times, the good times, during pregnancy etc. There is nothing to quantify or measure the efforts of the mother not even in terms of money or materials. The little token we can give as an appreciation of the efforts of the mother on the child is what we are doing. This time around via the celebrities and their mothers
He explained how Nigerians voted Mrs Gladys as the winner of the supermom season 3 celebrity edition for her emotional story and her exceptional sacrifice. With her prayer, personal effort and the assistance of the almighty God she was able to train Cobhams Asuquo to become a productive and great national figure.
Mrs Gladys Asuquo won the sum of 2,000,000 naira as the winner of the Supermom season 3, Celebrity edition. Out of which she gave 1,000,000 naira donation to the SOS Children Village.

Mr Buraimoh Benjamin, the Director of SOS Children Village welcomed everyone present and thanked Cobhams and his mother for the donation and said “if only we have millions of mothers like Mrs Gladys Asuquo, Nigeria will be the greatest country in the world because they would have raised great children who will turn Nigeria around.
He continued, "SOS is all about families and raising of children. In SOS we have foster mothers who take care of children who do not have the privilegde to be raised by their own parent.
SOS run two programmes; Family Based Programme and Family Strengthening Programme. The Family Based Programme is the activities that take place in the Children Village, where the foster mother manages 6-10 children.
The family strengthening programme on the other hand provides support to families in the communities that are vulnerable, families who can’t give adequate care to their children. So SOS helps out in terms of education and nutrition. This kind of programme is being runned in 7 locations of the country; Sasha-Ibadan,Ishaga-Lagos, Ejigbo, Kaduna, Gwagwalada , Jos and Owu-Ijebu in Ogun state.
While the SOS Children Villages are in 4 locations: Isolo, Owu- Ijebu, Gwagwalada and Jos. This run down is just to know the extent to which the donations are going; it is not for SOS Children Village, Isolo alone, he said.
He thanked everyone for the donation and prayed that Mrs Asuquo; as a Super mother, will be able to do more for the Nigerian Children, Cobhams will win more awards and that the good sample Mrs Gladys Asuquo has given him on parenting he will also replicate it and be a mentor to many parent.

Cobhams on his own part said definitely we can’t quantify the effort of a mother on a child. “I’ve been familiar with the SOS Children Village since the 90’s thou I did not understand the circumstances that surrounds the village then. But now I’m familiar with some of the people that came out of the village, one of which was Ajibade; who had to interview me for a TV show and that is to show the quality of training given to the children in the home”.
He thanked the director for the care he’s given to the children and he hope that this wouldn’t be the end of his relationship with the village.

Mrs Gladys Asuquo as well appreciated the organisers and sponsors of the programme, she prayed that God will continue to bless and uplift them

This was followed by the presentation of the 2,000,000 naira cheque to Mrs Gladys Asuquo for being the winner of the SuperMom 2012,Season3- celebrity edition.
